SUBJECTS OF TEACHING
Tagore-Music and Dancing on Classical Indian Styles are the only two subjects of teaching. Five years and four years course of study in Tagore-Music and Dancing respectively, are scheduled for adult students. For children, three years course is scheduled for the subjects. Students from children's section are promoted to adult section on attainment of fourteen years of age, with additional qualification of being a student of class IX in educational institutions. Children who have completed the children's course of study but do not qualify of crossover the age-bar are promoted to Special-class.
COURSE OF STUDY
Course of study in Tagore-Music is based on 17 different trends through which students will have a collection representing Tagore's entire musical compositions covering classical trends as Kheyal, Thumri, Dhrupad, Dhamar, Tappa etc. as also lighter trends viz, Religious, Seasonal, Ceremonial, Lyrical, Love-songs etc. Theory-lectures are held for which the book 'Rabindrasangeeer Dhara' written by Suvo Guha Thakurta is prescribed. Notation-reading is taught for which 'Swara-Bitan 1st Part' is prescribed. Voice-training based on four Thatas' of Hindusthani Classical Music is also taught. Course of study in Dancing is based on Manipuri, Kathakali and Bharat-Natyam styles of Indian Classical Dancing.
SESSIONS & EXAMINATIONS
Girls Section: Tuesdays and Thursdays between 4 & 7 p.m. or Saturdays between 3:15 & 7 p.m. and Sundays between 8-15 a.m. & 12 p.m.
Boys Section: Saturdays between 5:30 & 7 p.m. and Sundays between 10:30 a.m. & 12 p.m.
ADMISSION GOING ON FOR RABINDRASANGEET AND CLASSICAL DANCE ONLY
New Session starts from April every year. Annual Examination is held in March every year. Students obtaining more than sixty percent marks are promoted to next higher year. On completion of five years courses of study 'Anta' examination is held and students obtaining eighty percent or more marks are eligible for 'Abhijnan-Patra' or Distinction certificates and sixty percent or more marks for 'Krititwa-Patra' or Pass certificates.
PAYMENT DEADLINE
Fees Payable: All sections Rs 130 per month. School fee is payable on or before 15th of each month, but in any case not later than the last school-day of the calendar month with late-fee of Rs 10, name of a student defaulting on payment of school-dues within the calendar month is discontinued from roll and such student-ship can be restored only on the next month on payment of Rs 20 as restoration fee together with the fee for the month of payment. In all cases, exact payment should be tendered.
For New Students: Admission Fee = Rs 150, Annual Electric Fee = Rs 110, Annual Library Fee = Rs 60, Social Fee = Rs 100 and Monthly Fee. Annual, Social, Electric and Library fees are payable by all students at the beginning of each session.
REGULATIONS
New Students are admitted in First year classes. Students below seven years of age are not admitted. Absence for more than an average of one school-day in month is not permitted. Letter from guardian will be required for continuous absence of more than two school-days. Fifteen days notice will be required for withdrawal of name or for change of section. Students will be required to undergo twelve months training in one academic year. Students are not allowed to meet visitors without a letter on consent from their guardians. Prior sanction from General Secretary should be obtained before participating in nay musical or dancing performance which is not presented by Dakshinee. Students will be required to obtain sanction of the General Secretary if they intend to have private lessons from teachers who are not attached to Dakshinee. Students should be dressed as simple as possible while attending their classes and should be loyal to institutional ideals and regulations.
VACATIONS & HOLIDAYS
Annual Vacation of about a month time is scheduled in autumn every year. Casual Holidays are notified in class from time to time.

Gastha Bhangi, Krishna & Lalitha in Manipuri, Puja and Todiam in Kathakali, Tilana in Bharat-Natyam. A composition on Tagore-Song & Theory lessons.
Third Year
Khurumba Paring, Radha & Krishna Balaram in Manipuri, Sari in Kathakali, Jyotiswaram in Bharat-Natyam. Theory Lessons.
Fourth Year
Achouba Bhangi, Mangalacharan, Telena (Taung) & Gisthaq Brindaban Bhangi in Manipuri, 'Kamaswar-jyoti' in Kathakali, 'Padam' in Bharat-Natyam. Theory lessons and students own dance compositions.
